When recruiting an interim manager, companies mainly focus on the professional and industry skills of the candidates and less on their social and leadership skills. Despite a lack of specialised industry knowledge, we successfully carried out the mandate as head of Checkpoint Zurich.

Checkpoint Zurich is one of Switzerland’s largest health centres for HIV and other STIs and offers medical, preventive, psychological and psychosocial services. As a result of the sudden death of the previous head of Checkpoint Zurich, an interim solution had to be found at short notice for this management function.

The two sponsoring associations, “Arud Centers for Addiction Medicine” and “Zürcher Aids-Hilfe”, have decided to appoint an experienced interim manager from Acuenta to head this organisational unit until the new post holder starts. The main tasks included operational management with 13 employees, a business plan for possible independence of the checkpoint and the recruitment process for the new management of Checkpoint Zurich.

The expert from Acuenta knew how to impress with his high social and leadership skills. He quickly understood the team’s tasks and challenges, immediately initiated the necessary organizational measures, reactivated suspended projects and supported the employees in their day-to-day business.

With his open nature and active, committed approach, he quickly gained employees’ trust and established himself as a recognized leader. We successfully implemented the agreed goals.
