A “job stress analysis” shows possible solutions to mental health

The “How are you?” campaign was launched in 2018 by Health Promotion Switzerland. Talking about mental health pays off! Especially at a time when burdens and stress are constantly increasing. The city of Kriens is also interested in the health and satisfaction of its employees – It wants to learn more about this with an anonymous, scientifically based survey.

Project Details

Kriens, Switzerland

Corporate Health Management

Public Administration

The workplace for the employees of the Kriens city administration used to be in the new town hall at the beginning of 2019. During the relocation phase, the employees had to show a lot of flexibility and willingness to change. The personal feelings and emotions showed up in different facets. After more than a year, the management wanted to know: How are our employees doing in the new town hall?

It was time for the city council and the HR manager to collect their employees’ opinions and “mood” with an anonymous, scientifically recognized survey. Open, transparent communication regarding the content and objectives of this survey was necessary for management. The employees were informed in detail in the “K-intern” magazine and via video messages.

The decision-makers were aware that the subsequent results could suggest extensive measures – even including organizational development actions.

The survey was accompanied by Stocker Management GmbH – accredited WHM consultant.

The project’s careful preparation and coherent, transparent information policy have paid off. 80% of employees made their opinions and concerns known. The high response rate was pleasing, and it provided management with the desired results to implement measures for improvement.
